5 April 2021 Farm Open Day

Our main aim is to raise awareness of the uses and benefits of hemp (non-drug cannabis).  Our farm grows this under licence on a seasonal basis and our mission is to educate people about the many and varied uses of this valuable plant and encourage other farmers to grow more, bringing hemp back to the future.

12 November 2017 was the first day that hemp seeds were legally able to be sold as a food.  Awareness is steadily increasing and we aim to boost it!  And it’s not only food that this amazing plant can provide.

We will have:

  • demonstrations on the use of hemp in building (it’s a sustainable building material with great thermal properties)
  • short films about hemp in the old coach house
  • live music
  • the property houses many buildings dating back to the 1850s including a blacksmith’s shop, slab hut and coach house
  • a cottage retrofitted with hempcrete
  • pop-up farmers’ market
  • other attractions

Entry is only by pre-purchased ticket available at https://www.trybooking.com/BOYOB
